Transmission Fluid Coming Out Of Vent Tube

This video explains what is going on when automatic transmission fluid overflows the vent tube next to the dipstick tube on 1990 s s10 and s15 4x4 vehicles.
Transmission fluid coming out of vent tube. The fluid is at the correct level but when running the car the fluid will rise and pour out from the top of the trans filler tube. If the level is ok then the vent is plugged. Unfortunately you need to drop the transfer case out in order to fix it. If the vent is plugged when the fluid gets hot and expands the air is not expelled through the vent so the air pressure builds up and pushes the transmission fluid up the dipstick tube.
The dipstick tube is very near or on some transmission at or below the fluid level. This gasket and the compression latch are there to keep the fluid from blowing out the tube. The vent is always at the top well above the fluid level. Mcparadise july 5 2016 7 15pm 2.
Maybe the gasket is leaking. If that hose is plugged when the fluid gets hot it will purge itself out whatever way it can. Follow the vent tube down to the transfer case and there will be a check valve with three tubes going into it. Operating the latch should compress the gasket at the top of the stick.
With a clear vent the air can pass out or come in to accommodate the fluid expansion. Saw are you talking about the transmission fill tube or the transfer case vent. The vent will be a small hose located at the top of the transmission case. Fluid seepage out of the vent tube can sometimes be normal but can also be caused by overfilling.
I don t know your transmission but most domestics have a vent tube hose. I had to replace the check valve and the gasket between the tranny and transfer case. This check valve is defective. A 1970 chevy automatic runs fine except for trans fluis leaking.
